Larderello Group, FertiGlobal’s mother company, has ancient roots!
Our long history begins with a French gentleman who came to Italy in search of fortune at the beginning of the 19th century, in the middle of the Industrial Revolution.
His name was Jacques François Larderel. Shortly after moving to Tuscany, he discovered the Larderello area, near Pisa: a region very rich in natural resources, such as hot water springs and sludges with high concentrations of chemical elements – including boric acid.
Our visionary founder, Jacques François, soon realized the potential of these resources and started exploiting the heat of the geysers: it was the first example in history of the use of geothermal energy!
200 years later, we are very proud of our long history and we can say that this forward-looking approach is still well impressed in FertiGlobal’s DNA.
